Riddles

The purpose of this activity is to consolidate grammar and vocabulary items and work on all the skills.

Foco de la actividad: Función comunicativa, gramatical

 

Objetivos: The purpose of this activity is to consolidate grammar and vocabulary items and work on all the skills.

 

Destrezas que se emplean: Interacción (bi-/multi-direccional), Escucha, Lectura, Escritura

 

Procedimiento:

 

I showed them some pictures of famous characters and asked them to choose three of their favorite characters.  I gave them five colored small sheets of paper and stapled them.  Then I asked them to create their own riddles.  I provided a guide for them to fill out.  For example:

 

Her / His name starts with……………..

She /He is…………………………..(description)

She /He is……………………………(color)

She /He can………………………….

She /He likes……………………….

She /He usually…………………….

 

On each sheet of paper they wrote down this information and on the other side of this sheet they stuck the picture of the character they had chosen.  They created a mini- book of riddles. They came up with the following riddles: (I wrote down the answers but as I have already told you, in their books they had the pictures stuck on the other side of the riddles)

 

His name starts with B                Her name starts with M                His name starts with D

He is tall and thin                        She is a mouse                              He is a genius

He is a good friend                      She is black and white                  He is short

He can fly                                    She can dance                               He can make experiments

He likes spaceships                      She likes cooking                         He likes labs.

Buzz Light year                       She has a boyfriend                    He doesn´t like his sister

He is a bear

He can play with his friends

He likes honey

Rocío (8 years old).

 

Resultado esperado

They make up riddles, create a mini-book of riddles (a real mini-book or a virtual one)

They interact with each other

 

Opciones de adaptación

They can  create other riddles about characters, food, objects, etc.

They can create their own riddles by using pictures and include different descriptions. (Libre Office, PPT, Paint)
